Perry Endorses Giuliani for President

Governor Perry announced his endorsement of Rudolph Giuliani today in Washington. First, I guess that some people may look to a state governor for his choice of a presidential candidate if they are unsure themselves of whom to choose. I personally find this a more than a little humorous. Second, is this a requirement of the job, to let the public know who your presidential candidate choice is? This is a hard job. Third, more governors may follow suit, so keep your eyes peeled.

So Perry says that he has considered all of the candidates and has decided on Giuliani. But its concerning to me that we have a Texas candidate on the Presidential trail and it doesn’t appear that he makes the grade. Why is that? When I compared 3 issues they discussed – Abortion, Immigration and Right to Bear Arms, Ron Paul’s views were in line with Perry’s – issue for issue! So how can Perry in good conscience endorse a candidate who doesn’t share his same views and simply say that good people can disagree?

Finally, the whole issue of whether Perry would consider running VP on the ticket with Giuliani or with any other Republican Presidential candidate. What better way to draw attention to yourself while making an endorsement for Giuliani? Is it possible; has Perry become so accomplished that he should be VP? Many, including myself, say no. But the main reason Perry wasn’t interested in running is because he just moved and he’s not interested in moving again. Must be the sweet new digs our tax dollars are paying for.

There is obviously so much more to this than is being said. Do your own research and make your own choice.
